Eurosoccer Nottinghamshire Senior League: Division Three
MEDEN VALE COLTS RESERVES 2-1 CALVERTON MW RESERVES
A bad start to the day with a fall on the bus, but quick dinner with Shawn then Hazel who had been babysitter two of or grandchildren rang to say she was heading home, so she detoured and met up with us, so she was able to give us a lift to the ground.
I was greeted on arrival by the Colts Reserve Team manager and soon began chatting to some of the Calverton squad as they arrived.
Jason the Colts first team manager was able to gain access to the kitchen to get me a cuppa and then had a chat with todays match referee Joshua Stanley and a chat with the Calvo manager, with both teamsheets in and a cuppa, i took up my stroller on the halfway line for kick off.
The First half saw the visiting keeper seeing more of the ball than the home keeper, with many chances going high and wide.
In the 36th minute saw the homester break the deadlock, when a cross from the right hand side, found the head of CALLUM ASHBY who guided the ball home.
On 49 minutes, a visiting defender was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the box and the referee pointed directly to the penalty spot, much to the disagreement of the Miners. Up stepped captain KYLE CROOK to place the ball in to the bottom right hand corner of the net to double his sides advantage to 2-0. Calverton were still not happy and were reduced to 10 players.
Meden kept pressing forward whilst Calverton proved very stubborn and were playing better football at times, infact they didnt give up as on 79 minutes, DANNY MARLEY cut in from the right wing and placed a shot home to reduce the arrears.
A mention for Match Referee Joshua Stanley who I felt did very well in a game that had its flashpoints.
The Charity Blog in aid of the Charity BUTTERFLY has a running total now of £2.521.00
